Air Conditioning in Phoenix

Close to base, and a community where being straight about cost matters.

Airocool installs, services and repairs air conditioning throughout Phoenix, including Redcliffe, Mount View, Whetstone, Longcroft and Rydalvale. Phoenix is close to our Kenville base, so response times are good. Our approach here is the same as everywhere else: diagnose the actual fault, quote before doing the work, and say plainly when a repair is the better value option and when it is not.

Repair first, where repair makes sense

A lot of the work we do in Phoenix is on units that are eight or ten years old and perfectly worth keeping. A failed capacitor, a seized fan motor, a blocked drain or a corroded contactor are all inexpensive parts, and replacing them is far better value than replacing the machine. We would rather do that repair and keep the customer than push a new system nobody asked for. The flip side is that when a unit genuinely is not worth repairing, we say so and show you why, rather than taking payment for work that buys a few months.

Electrical supply is often the real story

Many homes in Phoenix were built long before households ran multiple air conditioners, and the board and circuits reflect that. Where we find a unit tripping the DB, running on a shared plug circuit, or wired without an isolator, the honest answer is that the electrical installation needs attention before another unit goes in. We have a qualified electrician in the team, so that gets resolved properly rather than becoming your problem to solve with a second contractor.

Servicing is the cheapest thing we sell

The single most cost-effective thing any household here can do is have units serviced properly rather than waiting for a breakdown. A coil clean and drain clear costs a fraction of a compressor, and it directly reduces what the unit draws off the meter. If money is tight, service the units you have before considering anything else.

Questions

Phoenix — common questions

Is it worth repairing an older air conditioner in Phoenix?
Often, yes. Capacitors, fan motors, contactors and blocked drains are inexpensive faults and well worth fixing on a unit under about ten years old. The calculation changes if the unit needs a compressor or a coil, is over about twelve years old, or runs the obsolete R22 refrigerant — at that point a new inverter unit usually costs less over two to three years once you count the electricity. We will show you both numbers and let you decide.
Do you charge a call-out fee?
Yes, we charge a call-out and diagnostic fee, and we tell you what it is when you book rather than when we invoice. If you go ahead with the repair, it is credited against the job. We would rather be upfront about it than advertise a "free" call-out and recover it inside an inflated repair price.
My aircon keeps tripping the electricity — is that expensive to fix?
Not necessarily, and it depends entirely on the cause. It might be a failing capacitor, which is a small part. It might be that the unit is on a shared or undersized circuit, which is an electrical fix rather than an aircon one. It might be a failing compressor, which is the expensive case. Please do not keep resetting it in the meantime — running a faulting circuit repeatedly can turn a cheap repair into an expensive one.
