Air Conditioning in Durban North

We are local, not "servicing the area"

Plenty of contractors list Durban North on a page. We are physically in it — our base in Kenville is a few minutes from most of the suburb. In practice that means a same-day look at an emergency is often realistic rather than aspirational, and a forgotten filter or a follow-up check does not require scheduling a special trip across the N2.

What Durban North properties throw at us

A lot of the housing stock here is older, with electrical boards that were never designed around three or four air conditioners. Adding units to a house built in the seventies frequently means dealing with the DB before dealing with the aircon, which is one reason we carry an electrician in the team. The other recurring theme is condensate drains on units installed years ago with barely any fall, which block and then run water down an interior wall in the middle of a humid February.

Humidity, not just heat

Durban North sits in the humid belt, and humidity is what makes a badly sized unit obvious. An oversized system drops the air temperature quickly, shuts off before it has dehumidified, and leaves a room that is cold and still feels damp. Sizing to the actual load — not to the biggest unit the budget allows — is the whole game here.
